We're tracking real prices before Black Friday

Since October 6 we record the price of every running product we follow at US stores, every day: 28,176 products so far. So on Black Friday we'll know which deals are real and which prices went up in November just to come back down.

How to spot a real Black Friday deal

• Compare with the price of the last few weeks, not the "was" price on the tag.
• Check your size: a big discount often only covers sizes nobody wears.
• Look at the return policy: many sale items are final sale. We label them.
